At Reticom we have been asked on numerous occasions to help with the either projects that for one reason or another as not gone to plan or network disasters. It is for this reason will have set up Special Projects department that can respond at a moments notice.

Wireless Network for 500 iPods in Berlin
We were asked to provide a wireless solution inside the BCC Berlin Conference Centre for 500 iPod touches for a pharmaceutical company conference, the iPod’s were used for voting and delegates interaction. The existing BCC wireless system could only cope with 75 iPods before falling over, we provided and installed a high density solution consisting of 3 Wireless access points, wireless controller and router. Work carried out in Berlin.
Surrey Fire and Rescue
Supply and install outstation equipment to Isle Of Wight.
With the merger of Surrey and IOW fire control centres, Reticom supplied and installed the station end equipment which included door, lights, P.A. relays and communications pads and antennae. The roll out was carried out over a 2 week period and was seamlessly cut over during twilight hours in one evening. The equipment was assembled and tested in our workshops in Fareham and installed by our engineers. Configuration and testing was completed by ourselves, Surrey Fire and Rescue and Fortek (now Capita).
In the past Reticom has carried out similar Fire and Rescue station end projects with many other counties, including Grampian, North Wales, North Yorkshire, Dorset, Norfolk and Surrey.
Tyco Electronics, Southampton, UK.
Set up temporary VPN from UK to USA after telephone company cut all fibre cables to their building by accident. Overall downtime was limited to 3 hours.
Set up routers and video conferencing to deal with latency over satellite links. Work carried out in Lagos and Abuja completed in 2 days
Gemplus, Brussels, Belgium
Re created Lotus Notes postoffice which distributed email to all other european offices, recreated PSTN router connections to all european countries postoffices. We were asked to carry out this work as the employee whom set up the system had left the company and there was NO backup. Overall downtime after we were contacted was 2 days. Work carried out in Belgium
